Mrs. Wend – School Principal

Welcome to the Loving Savior Lutheran School website! I am Mrs. Valorie Wend, the Principal for the 2017-2018 school year. I taught 6-8th grade Language Arts and Literature for eight years, and this is my eighth year as Principal of Loving Savior. Accredited By The Western Association of Schools and Colleges

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is one of six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools in the United States and foreign institutions of American origin. Loving Savior Lutheran School was officially accredited by the WASC in 2009.

Our curriculum here at Loving Savior has been chosen carefully in order to challenge our students to reach their highest potential. We use up-to-date materials from such publishers as Houghton-Mifflin, MacGraw-Hill, Abeka, and Saxon, Prentice-Hall, among others. This year we have a new Language Arts curriculum which includes access to on-line tutoring, quizzes, and a writing coach that gives instant feedback on written work submitted by the students.  In addition, we have added Rosetta Stone as part of our foreign language program.  We will be offering 26 languages this year:  Examples: Spanish, Mandarin, Italian, French, German, Arabic, and English (international students only).

Excellent curriculum, smaller class sizes, higher academic standards, and individualized attention have resulted in ITBS test scores well above the national average.

Students here have access to the latest technology, are taught by credentialed educators grounded in traditional disciplines, and are able to learn and excel in a safe, uplifting, and Christian environment.

Loving Savior offers many after-school activities. We have team sports in volleyball, flag football, basketball, track, and cross-country. In addition, we offer karate, piano lessons, archery, Mad Science, Legos, STEM, a chess club, art classes, as well as an etiquette/manners class. We are always seeking to add new after-school activities!

I welcome you to come and visit our campus at anytime. We would be delighted to meet you and your child and take you on a tour. We are located in the heart of Chino Hills, right off the corner of Chino Hills Parkway and Peyton Drive.

Hope to see you soon!

It is in 3rd grade when students really start to grow in their individuality and strive to be part of a group. Most importantly, the students have a continued opportunity to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I have always thought of my class like an extended family, and I believe that is what the students in my class become part of here at Loving Savior. God bless you, and take care!
