Worship Services

Sunday services take place in the main sanctuary. Services normally consist of prayers, songs, readings, the Holy Gospel, Pastor's sermon, and Holy Communion. Sometimes there are Baptisms and other special occasions during services. Frequently we are blessed to have children from our school and preschool sing during services.

There are two services - 8:45am Traditional Service and 10:30am Contemporary Service. Traditional Service is consistent with a customary Lutheran experience with organ, choir, and hymns from the Lutheran Hymnal. Pastor and Elders are in formal robes for this service. Contemporary Services are of a more casual nature - the contemporary music team sings modern worship songs, uses a keyboard instead of the organ, and Pastor and Elders are in less formal attire.

At both services Holy Communion is offered each week. This is for confirmed Lutheran members - others are invited to participate and receive a blessing rather than Communion.

Most days worship service is approximately 90 minutes long and is followed by refreshments and an opportunity to chat with Pastor and members of the congregation.

Typical attendance at most services is between 30 and 70, providing a very "small town" close-knit family atmosphere.

Scripture

"While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds living out in the fields se he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child."

Luke 2:1-5 (NIV)
